A Truly Unforgettable Experience — El Cielo Bogotá

Today I visited El Cielo Bogotá with my group, and I am still in awe of everything we experienced. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this was not simply a dinner — it was a journey.

Our host, Álvaro, was absolutely exceptional. His warmth, professionalism, and genuine passion for what El Cielo represents made every moment feel deeply personal and intentional. He guided us through each course with grace, knowledge, and care, making sure our group felt not just welcomed, but truly seen.

The food was exquisite — a masterful blend of creativity, culture, and culinary artistry that engaged all the senses. But what moved me most was how richly educational the entire experience was. El Cielo does something rare: it tells the story of Colombia through every bite, every detail, every moment. As someone whose work is rooted in celebrating Latin American culture and creativity, I was genuinely inspired.

This is the kind of experience that stays with you. It deepened my appreciation for Colombian heritage and reminded me why our culture deserves to be celebrated at the highest level.

Thank you, Álvaro, and the entire El Cielo team, for an evening of pure magic. I will carry this experience with me and share it with everyone I know.

We had a lovely time with friends here and the sensory experience is indeed quite fun, but the price tag is way too high for the food itself to be fairly mid - however creative it may be.

My first meal on my first trip to Colombia, it did not disappoint. 16 courses - ample amount of good delicious food, done with inventive storytelling. A non stuffy tasting menu that was just so fun. Standouts for me were the ceviche and the steak as well as the small bites but everything was so fun. I wish I was on mushrooms for the coffee/tea service lol

Wow I can't believe this place doesn't have Michelin stars. Easily one of the best culinary experiences I've ever had. Every dish is curated with a local Columbian story. Amazing gastronomical experience.

An unforgettable experience from start to finish.
El Cielo’s tasting menu is highly interactive, engaging multiple senses in a way that feels both playful and intentional. The staff is exceptional—warm, communicative, and thorough in explaining each course, including the cultural and creative inspiration behind the chef’s choices.

The 17 courses build gradually, each with its own distinct flavor profile and purpose, leaving you satisfied without feeling overwhelmed. Every dish feels like a small story being told.

A truly memorable culinary journey. Highly recommended.

A very enjoyable experiential dinner. 16 experiences, and not all of them edible. I had a dinner experience at the Medellin restaurant a few years ago it was similarly fun albeit more theatrical. I appreciate the storytelling behind the authentic Colombian ingredients. If you’re looking to entertain friends or family I recommend this experience at El Cielo.

This was an outstanding meal and probably one of the best I've had in a long time. I've been fortunate enough to dine in some wonderful restaurants around the world and this ranks in the top few percent if my list.

All of the dishes we were served, apart from the iced lolly, were great. They were full of exquisite flavours, which blended well. I give credit to the chefs for experimenting with things like the lolly, but that one didn't work for me. The crushing if the chocolate ball was a really interesting and tasty dish and the waiter was very attentive and patient as we washed our hands afterwards.

The waiters were really good and their explanations of the dishes and how to eat them were really helpful. Their English was the best I came across in my 10 days in Columbia.

The ambience and set up of the restaurant was really nice.

Yes, this was expensive but for such an outstanding meal, it was well worth it.

Would definitely come back if I ever return to Bogota.

A unique experience is offered at this very high end restaurant in chapinero. Enjoyed the whole evening and they served us so many different and exciting dishes. It will set you back a couple of hundred $ but will be enjoyable. Happy to se this kind of restaurants in Bogota and that they have trained staff able to offer top service, good job!

Multi-course dining experience that is worth a try…the only difficulty is finishing every bite! Great service and wine pairings, and of course, the coffee was delicious.

This was such an awesome place! The food was amazing, I felt like I was sitting in the Jungle, and the service was wonderful! The experience is SO COOL! Lots of first times during dinner throughout the experience. I was laughing, super impressed, and stuffed by the end of the experience! If you are thinking of eating here... DO IT! You'll have 0 regrets and a memory that will stay with you forever 🙂

A beautiful succession of very original dishes, however don't expect taste quality worthy of a Michelin guide restaurant. Some cooking is approximate, which is disappointing for this type of establishment.
The presentation of the food in various styles is very interesting. I was very impressed with how ingredients from different regions of Colombia were incorporated into many dishes.

The flavors were well-executed, and the adaptation of Colombian cuisine was excellent. It is truly commendable.

The atmosphere was excellent, making it suitable for many occasions. Overall, it is well worth it.

The presentation of the comidas is the most recent one. I am very impressed by the ingredients in different regions of Colombia.

Los sabores are the best places to eat, and the gastronomies in Colombia are excellent. Essence of the elogio.

El ambiente era excelente, acadecuado is a big opportunity. En general, vale mucho la pena.

Presenting food in various formats is very interesting I was very impressed with the use of ingredients from different regions of Colombia in many dishes.

The taste came out well. It applies Colombian food very well as well. considered admirable

The atmosphere is very good. Suitable for many occasions Overall, it is considered worthwhile.

Beautiful menu and storytelling accompaniment. I really enjoyed the added sensory experience beyond just the food, with 3 or so novel experiences I haven’t had before at any luxury restaurant.
It told a story of Colombia and they added 2 very nice touches to help us celebrate my fiancé’s birthday in style.

I'm not a food critic by any means. My suggestions and appreciation come from limited experience alone. That being said I had a wonderful experience at El Cielo. The staff was kind and attentive even though I made my reservation last minute. Juan Pablo was my server and provided my experience in English which I'm very grateful for. The Cazuela de Mariscos and Tobaco & Ron were two of my favorite dishes. I'll agree with other reviews that the Chocolaterapia course was surprising but I honestly loved it. It's unconventional it let's you play with your food and eat it! Yes, strange I know but honestly made me feel like a kid again. I did the 4 wine pairing and feel like everything flowed well. This was a great way for me to bring in the New Year and celebrate my birthday all at once. I went at lunch and practically had the pace to myself. My meal was WONDERFUL and everyone who helped me was so kind and considerate. Thank you El Cielo for a wonderful meal
The food is exquisite, with every dish crafted to perfection using top-quality ingredients. Each bite is a delightful burst of flavor and creativity.

The service is outstanding—attentive, professional, and seamless throughout the entire experience. The staff ensures you feel valued and well cared for.

The ambiance is elegant and inviting, with a beautifully designed space that enhances the dining experience.

If you’re looking for a top-tier culinary journey, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Let me know if you’d like further adjustments!

I did not expect that it would be that tasty, fun, and more than just using your mouth...

Miguel our server was outstanding. Speaking both English and Spanish to explain each of the 18 dishes...

I was worried that the food was too small and I would have to plan for a second dinner, but it was more than enough and the last three were deserts.

The 18 courses were inspired by 18 different cities in Colombia. Each was surprisingly unique to the texture, flavor and smell.

Totally worth the value!

It was an amazing experience. Every dish has a particular story and refers to something or someplace in Colombia. The flavours are fabulous, and the service is impeccable. The menu we had was a mix of the old and the new, and we were very impressed with the quality and presentation of the food. Bismarck was serving us and made our night even more pleasant.
On the negative side, I would mention the few options on the wine list.
