After we pointed out the issue about the pasta, the waiter apologized, but the solution came late—a bland chicken cutlet added when the meal was nearly finished, which felt poorly matched to the truffle pasta. Desserts were decent, and the complimentary champagne was appreciated, but while the ambiance, drinks, and parts of the service were enjoyable, the food quality did not fully meet expectations for a Michelin-star restaurant.

Came in expecting great food and left with an amazing memory. El Cielo Restaurant delivers on every level. The tasting menu was creative, balanced, and plated beautifully — every bite had a story. Service was warm without being overbearing, and the space feels intimate and romantic without trying too hard. We had an amazing 26th Anniversary dinner. Colombian vibez was amazing

The food was amazing—each dish beautifully reflects Colombian heritage and creativity. The customer service was excellent, warm, and attentive, making the whole experience feel extra special.
Overall, a mind-blowing dining experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy a unique and unforgettable Colombian/Latin American culinary journey!

From the very first moment, the atmosphere conveys sophistication and exclusivity, with impeccable attention to detail. Every space is thoughtfully designed to immerse guests in an intimate and memorable ambiance.
The culinary proposal is, without a doubt, the heart of the experience. The flavors are deeply authentic, reinterpreting the essence of Colombian cuisine through modern and creative techniques. Each dish tells a story, highlighting traditional ingredients with a refined execution that surprises and delights in every bite. It is a true celebration of Colombia through its flavors.

This restaurant beautifully blends Colombian ingredients with refined, high-end culinary techniques, creating a unique and memorable journey through flavors.
Every dish was thoughtfully executed, but my favorite was the bison with truffle and mushrooms—rich, elegant, and perfectly balanced.
Overall, an outstanding dining experience that I would highly recommend.

The textures and the combination of flavors were incredible—each dish felt thoughtful and perfectly balanced. The service was also excellent; everyone was attentive and made us feel very welcomed throughout the evening.
We left feeling completely satisfied and already excited to come back. And of course, the pan de yuca was one of our absolute favorites.

Absolutely amazing, 12/10.
Went to try the New york location, during restaurant week, even though it was in “El Bistró” which is a more relaxed option restaurant inside el Cielo, was a pleasant visit.
Dishes created with this Michelin star stamp, from the appetizer to the dessert.
The tree of life is a must, is innovative and so well sculpted, the taste really reminds me home.
The cocktails are named as “people names” I would really recommend “Dona Gloria” very well crafted and delicious cocktail.
And I need to also highlight the delicate and spectacular service from Antonio, who was such a great host together with Esteban, they made our night so special and delightful.
I’m sorry to see that some people had negative experiences, but starting in a demanding city like New York can be challenging. I can see the team is continuously working to improve the experience.
When to go: special occasion, date ❤️ or when someone is visiting New York and you want to take them to a very nice place.
Would be back and I recommend this place.

Overall, it was a great experience.
The restaurant is located on the 4th floor inside of the Virgin hotel.

For a restaurant that is still so new in NYC, it is already beautifully put together. The team works with so much heart and shows a clear eagerness to keep learning and perfecting what they do.
I visited to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday, we had the full experience, (he is a private chef), and it was a joy to introduce him to Colombian flavors presented with such refinement and good taste. He left very happy and impressed, which made the experience even more meaningful.
Overall, it was a wonderful evening and an experience we will definitely remember.

Go before it gets too hard to get a table.

And let me just say: the Tree of Life cheese bread stole my heart before the rest of the courses even had a chance. Warm, fluffy, buttery goodness that felt like a hug from the universe. Honestly, if they let me, I’d take that tree home and plant it in my kitchen. 🌳🧀💛
The rest of the menu? Gorgeous, inventive, and served with a flair that makes you feel like you’re part of a secret performance. Service was on point — attentive without hovering, and just the right touch of charm.
Bottom line: if you want a meal that’s equal parts delicious, theatrical, and unforgettable, Elcielo is the spot. Bring your appetite, your sense of wonder, and maybe some stretchy pants. 😉

We chose the ‘Journey’ experience. Yes, it is on the pricier side, but the staff made us feel truly welcomed. Each plate was vibrant, fresh, and left us eager for the next. By the eighth course, we were completely full. The attention to detail was impeccable, and the service overall was exceptional! Absolutely worth the splurge.
The only criticism my family and I have is that the chef, who appears to also be the owner, did not stop by our table. The restaurant has only been open for a couple of weeks, and we were told by the staff that, as a larger table, we would be greeted personally. As Colombians and enthusiasts of our culture’s cuisine, we were excited to share our appreciation directly. Unfortunately, while we noticed the chef visiting other tables, he never came to ours. This felt dismissive, especially since we were paying for a premium experience at a new establishment.
When opening a new restaurant, it’s important to connect with your guests, especially those who are passionate about the food you’re serving and want to support your growth. A simple greeting or acknowledgment from the chef would have gone a long way.
